Men's Golf: Sandman's top-10 finish leads Irish

Junior Josh Sandman has led the Irish all year, and was at it again at the National Invitational Tournament in Greensboro, N.C., this week.

The junior finished in the top-10 for the third straight tournament, and his two-under 214 helped the team tie for 10th with a score of 883, 19-over par.

"[Josh] is a strong ball-striker and has great skills around the greens," coach Jim Kubinski said. "When his putting gains consistency, the sky is the limit."

Sophomore Doug Fortner was also solid, finishing 34th on the heels of an impressive third round in which he shot even-par. Fellow sophomore Carl Santos-Ocampo finished 48th with a 224 overall score.

The next event for the Irish is the Notre Dame Spring Invitational on April 5 at Notre Dame campus.
