Hall Presidents' Council promotes pep rallies

Erin Wash, co-chair of the Hall Presidents' Council said the HPC is dedicated to bridging the gap between student government and residence halls on campus because it is "focused on residence halls."

"The Council works to ensure that hall presidents are informed and equipped with resources for planning dorm events.

"We filter information from student government to the hall presidents, and we provide a forum for discussion, sharing information, and advertising dorms' signature events," Wash said.

The cabinet is split into three parts - athletic, social and financial. The cabinet's athletic responsibilities occupied much of the HPC's fall semester due to its involvement in getting more student participation in pep rallies.

"We were involved in the change [to the last pep rally] in which students were last to enter, there was a lot more seating, and the football team sat closer to the students," she said.

HPC's financial division also distributes $30,000 among all the dorms for signature events.
