To Whom it May Concern:
In a recent publication of The Observer, I saw a cartoon from "The Mobile Party" that was incredibly offensive (Jan. 13). I graduated from Notre Dame in 1997 and while I can't deny the campus conservatism at that time, I never felt ostracized or denigrated for being a gay man. The publication of this cartoon makes me think that morality and compassion at Notre Dame are regressing and that's a shame, especially for those students that might be struggling with this issue on campus like I did 13 years ago.
