Still reeling off an away loss at Michigan State and finding themselves with a 1-2 record, the home matchup versus ranked opponent, Stanford was an important opportunity for the Irish to prove what spark still remained in their season. Unfortunately, the Irish fell far short and Stanford rolled to a 37-14 victory.
