Wednesday pratices no longer open to media

The Irish Insider Extra's jokes in the past weeks about whether or not we were at Wednesday football practice may have fallen flat; but we certainly won't be there from now on.

That's because the first and second rules of Brian Kelly practices have been violated.

That's right, someone spoke about them.

In the practice policy guidelines given to reporters before the season started, the once-a-week viewing of Wednesday practice was included as a "two-hour off-the-record conversation," which writers could use for background knowledge but could not describe in print.

However, according to an e-mail sent to the media Thursday, "multiple published reports" violated that policy, and, as a result, media will no longer be allowed to view practice.

This should not affect any other aspect of current media access; that is, we will still interview players and coaches after practice on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; Kelly, two members of the defense and two members of the offense will have press conferences on Tuesday afternoons and Kelly will have another press conference on Thursdays.
