Scott goes pro

Irish senior forward Carleton Scott announced Sunday night he would not be returning to school for his final year of eligibility and would instead enter the NBA Draft.

Scott originally announced his intention to test the draft waters Apr. 13; he did not sign with an agent at the time and could return to school without losing his eligibility before Monday. After working out for NBA teams and scouts, Scott decided to remain in the NBA draft.

Scott played three seasons at Notre Dame, not playing his freshman year. He averaged 11.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game in 2010-11 in what was a career-best season. Scott will graduate May 22 with a degree in history and computer applications.
