Will Fuller earns MVP at annual awards banquet

Junior receiver Will Fuller was voted Notre Dame's MVP at the team's annual awards banquet Friday at DeBartolo Performing Arts Center.

Fuller pulled in 13 touchdowns on 56 receptions this season, totaling 1,145 receiving yards, all of which led the Irish. Earlier this week, he was also named a second-team All-American by Sports Illustrated, USA Today and CBS Sports.

  • Defensive Player of the Year: junior linebacker Jaylon Smith
  • Nick Pietrosante Award (given to the student-athlete who best exemplifies the courage, loyalty, teamwork, dedication and pride of the late Irish fullback): senior receiver Chris Brown
  • Moose Krause Lineman of the Year: junior defensive lineman Sheldon Day
  • Offensive Lineman of the Year: graduate student offensive lineman Nick Martin
  • Next Man In Award: senior running back C.J. Prosise
  • Offensive Newcomer of the Year Award: sophomore quarterback DeShone Kizer
  • Defensive Newcomer of the Year Award: freshman defensive lineman Jerry Tillery
  • Special Teams Player of the Year: graduate student cornerback Matthias Farley
  • Rockne Student-Athlete Award: graduate student linebacker Jarrett Grace
  • Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year: freshman offensive lineman Tristen Hoge
  • Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year: freshman linebacker Asmar Bilal
  • Irish Around the Bend Award: graduate student linebacker Joe Schmidt
  • Father Lange Iron Cross Award (for outstanding development in the weight room): senior defensive lineman Romeo Okwara
