Man dies at Notre Dame Stadium

| Sunday, October 22, 2017

A 76-year-old man died after going into cardiac arrest during the Notre Dame-USC football game at Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday night, according to an email from University spokesperson Dennis Brown.

The St. Joseph County Coroner’s Office confirmed the man was Stephen Briley of Midway, Utah, according to a report from WNDU.

Briley went into cardiac arrest at about 8:10 p.m. and paramedics from Notre Dame and the South Bend Fire Department tried to resuscitate him but were unsuccessful, according to the email.

The University “extends its deepest condolences to the family,” the email said.
