The Saint Mary’s Student Academic Council (SAC) has been celebrating the various majors of the College by hosting a “Major of the Week” since the beginning of the semester, holding major weeks since the semester began said student body vice president and coordinator of SAC Sarah Falvey. One of the main objectives of the group is to raise awareness of majors on campus and to increase communication among the departments.

Each week, a major on campus is chosen and events are held in honor of it.

“This semester SAC has held major weeks every week to promote awareness of the major on the Saint Mary’s campus,” Falvey said. During these weeks the departments generally hold lectures and activities to encourage students to learn more about what is offered on campus.

SAC also featured the majors during the dedication of Spes Unica.

“Women with majors in the hall helped give tours and present information about how their major was benefitting from the various technology in the hall,” Falvey said.

The group has also been working on reforms to the General Education program with Dr. Joseph Incandela, associate dean and professor of Religious Studies. These revisions will continue into next semester.
