Police arrest teens who carjacked students

Police have arrested three teenagers for the carjacking of two Holy Cross students, according to a South Bend Tribune report.

The three teenagers, two 18 and one 17, are accused of criminal confinement and armed robbery.

The case is still under investigation and the teenagers are being held at the St. Joseph County Jail, according to the report.

The Holy Cross students were robbed at gunpoint and forced to ride in the trunk of their vehicle late Thursday.

The students told police they were approached in a parking lot on the 800 Block of Notre Dame Ave. by several men, one with a gun.

The men forced them into the car and drove to several ATMs where the students withdrew cash.

Police said an officer pulled the vehicle over on McKinley Rd. because the driver failed to turn off the high beams, and the suspects fled the vehicle. The officer found the two students in the trunk with minor injuries.
