Last night,
I cried for hours.
I blamed myself for not picking up the phone and calling you
For not texting you a corny joke
For not saying a proper goodbye
Last night,
I cried for hours.
This morning,
I called you on the phone for the first time in a while,
just to hear your voice,
just to hear you laugh.
Anything that would prove
you are still here.
call me back.
The silence is killing me
and I’m not ready to let you go.
