Scenecast #5: Deathcast

This fall, we premiered Scenecast, a new podcast from the Observer Scene staff. Each week, a think tank of Scene writers will discuss a topic from the pop culture zeitgeist. Our writers watch, read and listen to more media than is probably healthy, and this podcast will be another vehicle for sharing that knowledge, often in more depth than is possible in print.

On Episode 5, the Scene staff talk about a slightly morbid question: if you were to die tomorrow, what would be the last five songs you listened to? Everyone agrees on the difficulty of choosing only five songs, before each person explains the rationale behind their picks. The songs discussed run the gamut from The Beatles and Patti Smith to Kanye West and Chance the Rapper, with the writers offering thoughts about life and mortality along the way.

Listen to Episode 5 below and subscribe on iTunes here. You can also listen live every Thursday at 6 p.m. on WVFI.
