Erin Boley announces transfer to Oregon

Former Irish forward Erin Boley announced via Twitter on Tuesday that she will transfer to Oregon for the remainder of her collegiate career.

Boley played in all 37 games for Notre Dame this season, starting in 10 of them after injuries to junior forwards Brianna Turner and Kathryn Westbeld left the Irish shorthanded in the frontcourt. The freshman forward averaged 6.5 points in her 15 minutes per game this season, and she was second on the team in 3-point shooting percentage at 39.5 percent on 119 attempts from beyond the arc.

Boley — who was the 2016 Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior in high school — was one of two Irish players to announce her decision to transfer at the end of the season, as Notre Dame head coach Muffet McGraw also announced April 10 that sophomore guard Ali Patberg would join Boley and transfer from the program. On April 24, Patberg announced she would be finishing her collegiate career at Indiana.

Per NCAA rules, both Boley and Patberg will have to sit out next season before using their remaining seasons of eligibility.
