Notre Dame lands 2018 basketball recruit

Rivals top-50 guard Prentiss Hubb announced his commitment to Notre Dame via Twitter on Wednesday.

Hubb, listed at 6-foot-3 and 175 pounds, is ranked as the 45th-best prospect in the country for the class of 2018 by Rivals and is Notre Dame’s first commitment in the 2018 class.

“I am proud to announce my commitment to Coach Brey and Notre Dame,” Hubb said in his tweet. “ … I want to thank all the coaches who took the time to recruit me. I also want to thank my family, friends, coaches, trainers and everyone who has motivated me and helped me through my career thus far. I am excited for what the future has in store for me.”

Hubb is a Washington, D.C., native and attends Gonzaga College High School. Hubb was also considering Villanova, Maryland and Virginia.
