Garth Brooks concert to air on CBS

| Thursday, October 18, 2018

The Garth Brooks concert Saturday at Notre Dame Stadium will be recorded and aired at 8 p.m. on Dec. 20 on CBS and CBS All Access, according to a statement from CBS on Wednesday.

The sold-out concert saw more than 84,000 tickets purchased in two hours, according to The South Bend Tribune. Titled “Garth: Live at Notre Dame!” the show will air in the South Bend region at 8 p.m. on WSBT-TV.

“After the sellout, I thought it could not get any more exciting than this,” Brooks said in the CBS statement. “Then, CBS calls and in an instant, the show becomes bigger. This changes everything.”

Jack Sussman, CBS’ executive vice president for music, specials & live events, expressed anticipation for the showing.

“We are joining forces to bring viewers Garth at his best — a full-blown stadium-sized event for television from renowned Notre Dame Stadium,” Sussman said in the CBS statement. “Garth Brooks. Notre Dame. Two icons. One night. It will be a television event to remember.”
