Sexual assault reported to NDPD

The Notre Dame Police Department (NDPD) announced in an email Friday that a sexual assault, as defined in Du Lac, was reported to the department. The alleged assault took place Thursday morning “in an east side campus residence,” according to the email.

According to the email, the victim who reported the alleged assault was a male and he was “familiar” with the suspected assailant. The email included a description of the suspect, describing him as “a black male with black hair, approximately 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing between 180 and 190 pounds.” Although the NDPD was not provided with the suspect’s name, the department believes the alleged assailant is not a member of the Notre Dame community.

Information about sexual assault prevention and resources for survivors of sexual assault are available online from NDPD and the Title IX office.
