Andrew Ouellette has been appointed the new director of Campus Ministry at Holy Cross, Holy Cross announced in a press release Thursday.
Ouellette is replacing Andrew Polaniecki, who served in the position for 10 years. Polaniecki will now take on the role as dean of students, according to the release.
Ouellette attended Franciscan University of Steubenville, where he earned a master’s degree in theology. He also served at the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend as director of the office of youth ministry.
In addition to his role as director of Campus Ministry, Ouellette will also oversee the Saints and Scholars Summer Theology Institute, a high school program that relates theology to six areas: athletics, business, human rights, media, public health and sustainability.
Holy Cross senior vice president Michael Griffin said Ouellette will be “an outstanding fit” for the job.
“His deep knowledge of Catholic tradition, his commitment to inclusion and genuine sense of caring will certainly make a difference in the lives of all of our students, no matter their faith or background,” Griffin said in the release.
