Holy Cross announces intent to begin in-person instruction Aug. 24

The Holy Cross administration announced its plans for the 2020 fall semester in an email to the student body Friday morning.

According to the email, the 2020-2021 academic year will begin on campus Aug. 17, with fall semester classes starting Aug. 24.

The faculty and staff convocation will take place starting Aug. 20. Welcome Weekend will commence from Aug. 21-23.

“While circumstances and events external to the College could potentially affect the calendar, as of right now it is fixed,” the email said.

College President Fr. David Tyson said he, the officers of the College and the board of trustees will discuss alternative strategies in late May in case modification is needed.

“I will look forward to seeing all of you in late August as we begin a new semester and anticipate the Welcome Home Celebration and Commencement of the Class of 2020 on Labor Day Weekend!” Tyson said in the email.
