Saint Mary’s cancels in-person 2020 commencement ceremony
Observer Staff Report | Friday, February 5, 2021
The in-person commencement ceremony for the class of 2020, originally re-scheduled to take place in May, has been cancelled in light of the ongoing pandemic, President Katie Conboy announced in a Friday email.
In addition, all alumnae reunions scheduled for June have been cancelled.
“While we all desperately wish to gather together in person, it would be extremely challenging to host these live events safely,“ Conboy said. “Bringing people to campus from all across the nation and the world is just too risky given the current public health projections.“
The College is preparing for an in-person commencement ceremony for the class of 2021.
