NDPD reports two off-campus armed robberies

| Saturday, May 15, 2021

In an email to the Notre Dame community, the Notre Dame Police Department (NDPD) reported two armed robberies of students near campus Saturday morning. There were no reported injuries.

The suspects, two “skinny men in their late teens to early twenties wearing face coverings,” reportedly robbed the victims at gunpoint. At the moment, the same two men are believed to have been involved in both robberies. The suspects fled the scene on foot.

It was reported that one of the robberies occurred at the Overlook Apartments, located one block east of campus on Twyckenham Drive. The other robbery reportedly occurred three blocks south of campus near Notre Dame Avenue and South Bend Avenue.

In the email, NDPD said they are currently in contact with the South Bend Police Department (SBPD) and the St. Joseph County Police Department (SJCPD).

They also urged anyone with information regarding the Overlook Apartments incident to reach out to SJCPD at 574-235-9569, and anyone with information regarding the Notre Dame Avenue/South Bend Avenue incident to reach out SBPD at 574-235-9263.
