Notre Dame will host a keynote event Oct. 27 featuring actors reading scenes from Sophocles’ “Oedipus the King” in a virtual production as part of the 2021 ND Forum, “Care for our Common Home: Just Transition to a Sustainable Future,” University President Fr. John Jenkins announced in an email Thursday.
The virtual production will consist of performances from actors such as David Strathairn, Amy Ryan and Glenn Davis. Following the reading of scenes, four members of the Notre Dame community will begin a discussion with the audience responding to the performance.
Jenkins said the performance aims to engage the community in the Forum’s conversation about climate change and environmental justice. The virtual production will take place at 7 p.m.
