Fire reported in Le Mans Hall laundry room

| Wednesday, November 10, 2021

A fire was reported at approximately noon Tuesday in the west laundry room of Le Mans Hall, according to an email from Le Mans resident hall director McKinlay Otterson.

Saint Mary’s Campus Safety and the maintenance and housekeeping team is working together to ensure the space returns to functional use.

According to the email, “vendoland, laundry rooms and the student center tunnel will be inaccessible until further notice.“

Otterson also said students in Le Mans are to report Regina Hall as the primary location to do laundry.

Further, the email noted all residence hall windows should remain closed to help prevent the smoke from entering personal spaces and rooms.

If students have items in the laundry room, the College will be implementing a process for students to pick up their belongings. If students have any questions or concerns regarding personal property, they should be directed to the dean of students Shay Jolly Schneider.
