Notre Dame closed Wednesday due to winter weather

According to an ND Alert email sent to the campus community early Wednesday morning, the University will be closed Wednesday due to inclement weather.

Both in-person and virtual classes are canceled, per the email.

“Only personnel whose job functions have been designated essential to the safe operation of the campus should report to work,” the email concludes.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning of low visibility, 12 to 16 inches of snow and ice accumulations. The warning is in effect until the end of the day Thursday.

The decision comes after Saint Mary’s announced a campus closure on Wednesday due to winter weather in an email Tuesday evening.

Although campus is closed, the student body election will still be conducted today via an online ballot sent by email to students, the Notre Dame student government judicial council announced Wednesday morning. Students have until 8 p.m. to vote for student body president and vice president.
