Almost two hours after campus reopened on Thursday, a pipe burst in the Duncan Student Center at approximately 2:50 p.m., forcing all inside to evacuate.
“Due to the cold conditions, a sprinkler main broke on the third floor, causing damage there and on floors one and two,” University spokesman Dennis Brown said in an email.
According to an email sent out by the University, the center will remain closed for the rest of the day but will tentatively reopen Friday at 7:30 a.m. Restaurants will be open normal hours and the Smith Center for Recreational Sports will open at noon, the email said.
