Notre Dame to open vaccination site March 26

Notre Dame will open a mass vaccination site in partnership with the St. Joseph County Health Department, University President Fr. John Jenkins said Tuesday in an email announcement. The site will be at the Compton Family Ice Arena and will be open Friday, March 26 and Saturday, March 27 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The site may remain open for an additional day.

“It will provide vaccinations for those Indiana residents eligible at that time under the Indiana Department of Health vaccine guidelines, whether or not they study or work at the University,” Jenkins said in the email.

Members of the COVID-19 Response Unit will work with the Indiana Department of Health and the St. Joseph County Health Department. Jenkins urged those eligible to be vaccinated and said there will be no charge for vaccination.

“Once again, I commend the generosity and commitment of the CRU team, who for the past 10 months has worked tirelessly to care for the Notre Dame community and will now lend their time and talent to Indiana’s vaccination campaign,” Jenkins said.
