Saint Mary’s cross country finishes 35th in Twilight Invitational

SMC cross country approaches the end of another season

The Belles traveled to the LaVern Gibson Course this past Friday in Terre Haute, Indiana for the Pre-Nationals Twilight Meet. They competed in the 6000m championship and open race. 

In the championship race, the Belles finished 35th out of 44 teams and had ten runners in this race. Senior Susanna Bernovich led the Belles on the track, finishing 191st with a time of 24:27.53. Sophomore Cecilia Conrad followed closely, finishing with a time of 24:36.88 and freshman Allie Glendening was not far behind with a time of 24:40.52.

Sophomore Jordan Siminski finished with a time of 25:02.32, freshman Hannah Walsh finished with a time of 25:16.55, sophomores Anna Scannell and Savannah Paulson finished closely behind with a total time of 25:22.82 and 25:33.19, junior Isabella Auch finished at the 25:42.84 time mark, graduate student Sarah Harman finished with a time of 27:29.59 and junior Mary Weber rounded out the championship race for the Belles with a time of 27:55.34

The Saint Mary’s cross country team only had two competitors in the women's 6000m open race, freshman Alex Brunswick and sophomore Ellie York. Brunswick finished with a time of 30:40.67 and York rounded out the race with a time of 31:18.28. 

Next, the Belles prepare to hit the road to Rock Island, Illinois to compete in the Augustana Interregional Invitational at the Saukie Golf Course to finish out the regular season. The meet is set to start at noon on October 19th.
