Saint Mary's tennis sweeps Olivet and Alma

Wins in all doubles and singles matches gives Saint Mary's two 7-0 wins

Saint Mary’s extended their win streak to nine after taking a pair of 7-0 wins over Olivet and Alma. The team is 13-3 on the season and 4-1 in conference. 

Olivet

Starting off the doubles matches, finishing in numerical order, senior Alayna Campbell and junior Emma Kealy finished first, winning 6-1. On the second court, junior Hannah Gerner and freshman Shannon Dudy recorded a 6-1 win and in the third and final doubles match sophomore Genevieve Brawner and freshman Odessa Norton took the 6-0 win. 

In singles matches, the Belles continued to dominate, taking control and winning all six matches. Campbell finished on the No. 1 court winning 6-0, 6-1. On the second court, Kealy took an identical 6-0, 6-1 victory and sophomore Anna Gardner took care of business on court three winning 6-3, 6-0 over opponent Kayden Alli. On court No. 4, freshman Lanie Brant won her match 6-0, 6-1 and similarly on court five, sophomore Sophia Pischalko gained her first win of the day 6-0, 6-1. In the final singles match, freshman Rachael Borg competed and won her first match of the spring season with a 6-1, 6-2 decision. 

Alma

The Belles took the quick doubles point as Campbell and Kealy won 6-1 on the first court. On the No. 2 court, Dudy and Pischalko took the 6-1 win and on the third court, Brant and Gardner took the final 6-1 win. 

Campbell started off the singles matches on the No. 1 court winning 7-6, 7-5. On the No. 2 court, Kealy won her match 6-4, 6-3 and nearby on the third court, Gardner collected her second win of the day as she emerged 6-1, 6-3 to put the Belles ahead 4-0. In the fourth match, Dudy took the 6-1, 6-1 win, and following was Brant with a 6-3, 6-3 win on the No. 5 court. To round out the singles matches, Pischalko took the 6-2, 6-1 win, marking the Belles down for a clean 7-0 victory.

The Belles now prepare to host Albion and celebrate senior night on Saturday, April 12 at 1:00 p.m.
