Matt Smith | Thursday, April 8, 2021

The NFL is obsessed with speed. The 40-yard dash is the main event every year at the NFL Combine and at pro days, with fans, scouts, and players drooling over prospects who run between 4.2 and 4.4 seconds. Social media blows up over the potential emergence of the next Tyreek Hill or Chris Johnson, two

Gregory reflects on unique path to Notre Dame football

Matt Smith | Friday, December 18, 2020

Reed Gregory did not always have his sights set on Notre Dame. The senior linebacker from Morristown, N.J. did not grow up as a lifelong fan, and he was not a legacy of the university either. But when Gregory stopped in South Bend for a campus tour, something about Notre Dame just felt different to

The city of Los Angeles just enjoyed one of the greatest sports months in recent memory. Despite constant offensive pressure throughout the afternoon, Notre Dame was unable to come away with a favorable result Saturday, losing 2-1 to Louisville at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium. Smith: Show LeBron a little love

Matt Smith | Friday, October 2, 2020

Amid all of the chaos of 2020, there has been one bit of normalcy that has convinced me this year hasn’t just been some never-ending dream: a LeBron James-led team is in the NBA Finals. After coming into the season as title favorites, James and the Los Angeles Lakers cruised through the Western Conference with

So much for turmoil within the Green Bay Packers’ organization. After an offseason filled with questions surrounding the front office’s decision-making and the chemistry between star quarterback Aaron Rodgers and head coach Matt LaFleur, the team came flying out of the gates with a blistering 43-34 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. The Packers

Matt Smith | Tuesday, September 1, 2020

Armed with the best player in baseball for the past ten years, the Los Angeles Angels still haven’t figured out how to become playoff contenders. Mike Trout has won three American League (AL) MVP awards to go along with four runner-up finishes during his time in the big leagues, yet the Angels have only appeared

Each day our student journalists, editors, reporters, photographers and designers work hard to report on the things you care about. From tri-campus events to movie reviews, letters to the editor and sports predictions, we give a platform to numerous voices waiting to be heard.

Even throughout the pandemic, our staff has continued publishing articles, letters, columns, reviews and sharing our content with you on social media.

Just recently The Observer won first place in online publication of the year at the Indiana Collegiate Press Association Awards, proving that our hard work and dedication pays off.

As a student-run organization, we juggle the same responsibilities as our peers, while remaining committed to informing the public out of our love for the tri-campus community. This ND Day, we hope that you would consider making a donation to support our student journalists.
