On Saturday afternoon, Notre Dame will square off with Georgia Tech at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the state-of-the-art home of the SEC Championship game, Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl and the National Football League’s Atlanta Falcons. The Irish and Yellow Jackets have never collided in this venue, but they are familiar foes. Here’s a look back at the highlights of Notre Dame’s 37-game matchup history with Georgia Tech, which the Irish lead 30-6 with one tie.

The original “Mean Girls“ could never be beat. The iconic lines, the attitude and the aesthetic created a cultural phenomenon and a movie that’s constantly being referenced twenty years later. A core memory of mine is watching that movie for the first time with one of my friends and being excited to get to high school after seeing it because I wanted to have the friendships the girls formed by the end of the film. It was truly iconic!

As I was doomscrolling through Netflix my freshman year of college (I am now a sophomore) to find a new show to watch, I came across the new Netflix Original, “Heartstopper.” Its name was interesting to me, and it looked like a super cute show. I was very intrigued by this coming-of-age romance/drama. After binge watching the first and second season when it came out, I was stoked for the third. While the show is live action, it has many cute animations that bring the story to life while addressing many different, relevant themes.

During Monday afternoon’s weekly press conference, Notre Dame head football coach Marcus Freeman announced the loss of junior cornerback Benjamin Morrison for the remainder of the season. Morrison will require surgery on a hip injury, leaving the Irish with a team captain and All-American-sized hole to fill in the defensive backs room.

I don't even know where to start. I am at a loss for words, which is rather uncommon because I talk a lot. I grew up watching Marvel movies, from the “Iron Man” movies to the “Spider-Man” movies (the Tom Holland ones are the best). However, since 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame,” which featured the death of Iron Man, it is almost like Marvel has gone entirely off the rails and is just producing shows for the money. With this, it’s no surprise their newest show, “Agatha All Along,” is entirely unnecessary, features slightly disturbing themes that clash with the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and overall does not make sense. Needless to say, I am not a fan of this irrelevant show.

Cooking competition shows can be stressful. Either the judges are catty, the time limit is too severe or the ingredients are too limiting. To some, this can be justified with a hand wave and saying “that’s the point.” Some programs dare to differ from “Chopped” or “Cutthroat Kitchen” or that one where Gordon Ramsay puts people in a three story building, if you remember that. “Great British Bake-Off” is considered wholesome television (with the exception of an occasional cultural microaggression), and “Nailed It!” embraces the fact that things tend to go wrong in these competitions. Even with these, cooking competitions tend to become predictable; so what would it look like to take these conventions and flip them on their head?

Last weekend, Notre Dame watched from home as several upsets rocked the college football world. Multiple top-ranked teams fell, headlined by No. 1-ranked Alabama. As a result, the Irish jumped two spots in the AP Poll without touching the football field. They spent their time recovering and preparing for their 38th all-time meeting with rival Stanford with the Legends Trophy on the line. Saturday’s edition of the historic contest was one-sided, however, as Notre Dame cruised to a 49-7 victory over the Cardinal. I believe the Irish left with more than just a routine win, but also a meaningful step forward.

The Notre Dame men’s soccer team returned to Alumni Stadium on Friday night, welcoming the No. 7 North Carolina Tar Heels to South Bend for a pivotal ACC clash. Coming off back-to-back defeats, first at Syracuse and most recently at home against Michigan, the Irish entered Friday’s match much in need of a marquee victory to climb the conference table and boost their at-large resume.
