J.J. Post | Friday, September 15, 2023

MACtion. It’s a phrase every college football die-hard is familiar with. And for good reason: the Mid-American Conference represents so many of the things that make college football great. It’s remained geographically sound in the face of consistent realignment. A model of parity, it hasn’t had a repeat champion in over a decade. Best of

Nate Moller | Friday, May 13, 2022

Between a string of close games and an unexpected late season coaching change, the 2021 Notre Dame football season had its fair share of ups and downs. Despite the obstacles the team faced, however, the Irish still managed to post an 11-2 record and make a New Year’s Six game. Irish survive early nailbiters The

A ‘tale of two halves’: Irish drop 21-point lead to Cowboys, fall 37-35

Mannion McGinley | Sunday, January 2, 2022

The Fiesta Bowl was nothing short of a test for the Irish. It tested a defense, and more specifically a secondary, without Kyle Hamilton. It tested a Chris Tyree-led running back room. It tested Tommy Rees and his unbridled offensive play calling. And it set the tone as the Irish stepped into the Marcus Freeman

On a truly wild day in the college football world, Notre Dame made the trek out to the west coast to cap off their regular season. Mannion McGinley, Aidan Thomas, Emily DeFazio, Jimmy Ward, Nate Moller and Colin Capece | Friday, November 26, 2021

Notre Dame Passing In their 11 games this season, Stanford’s defense has allowed their opponents to walk all over them. The stats line: 185 completions on 305 attempts for 2246 yards and 13 touchdowns. The Irish will be no exception to this pattern, especially after the last few weeks. In five out of the last

For the second consecutive week, the No. 11-ranked Irish reigned victorious in a night game at Notre Dame Stadium. This time it was against the UNC Tar Heels by a score of 44-34. Although the defense had some issues with tackling and giving up big plays, junior running back Kyren Williams proved to be the

The crowd may play a role, but it is not a one man show

Emily DeFazio | Friday, October 1, 2021

Waves have already been made ahead of Saturday’s top ten matchup. Cincinnati quarterback Desmond Ridder, the leader of Notre Dame’s opposition this weekend, may have given the Irish just what they needed to come out on top. Irish show both consistency and improvement in home win over Purdue

Emily DeFazio | Sunday, September 19, 2021

The Irish were in for a battle against Purdue from the very beginning of the game on Saturday. The matchup went on to be one filled with statement plays rather than steady progression on either side.  The Irish didn’t have a scoring drive for the entirety of the first quarter. This Thursday, Feb. 16, the 93rd annual Bengal Bou This Thursday, Feb. 16, the 93rd annual Bengal Bouts will begin its preliminary rounds. A men’s boxing tournament that benefits the Holy Cross Mission in Bangladesh, Bengal Bouts seems to perfectly combine two integral aspects of Notre Dame’s identity: a passion for sports and a commitment to social impact.
