Seidel takes home bronze medal in women’s marathon at Olympics

Notre Dame alumna Molly Seidel won the bronze medal in the women’s marathon Saturday at the Tokyo Olympics. Seidel is only the third American woman to win an Olympic medal in the women’s marathon. The most recent American medal in the event came in 2004 from Deena Kastor, who also took home the bronze medal.

Cross country has historic season, track and field eyes success in postseason

It was a bizarre year for cross country in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic with the national meet taking place at the beginning of March rather than its usual November date. Despite this, the men’s cross country team managed to finish second in the country, which was good for their best finish since 1957.

A men’s boxing tournament that benefits the Holy Cross Mission in Bangladesh, Bengal Bouts seems to perfectly combine two integral aspects of Notre Dame’s identity: a passion for sports and a commitment to social impact.
