One might meet an autistic person who seems anxious or reserved and misinterpret her demeanor as a sign that she’s simply not someone who feels very strongly about anything. This could not be further from the truth. Autistic people are still invested in the topics and

Erin Thomassen | Thursday, November 10, 2016

I love hearing people sing off-key at Mass. This is not a sarcastic statement.  You may be confused why I, a member of the Notre Dame Folk Choir, enjoy off-key singing. Shouldn’t I crave four-part harmony, dark vowels and clean cutoffs? I do. Yet there is a different kind of beauty I experience when I

A men’s boxing tournament that benefits the Holy Cross Mission in Bangladesh, Bengal Bouts seems to perfectly combine two integral aspects of Notre Dame’s identity: a passion for sports and a commitment to social impact.

This week, From the Archives takes a long overdue look at the history of Bengal Bouts. While this tournament predates the Observer by nearly four decades, we uncovered a selection of stories that capture at least a part of the rich history of this Notre Dame tradition.
