The beauty of self-care

Isabelle Kause | Monday, February 20, 2023

So much of our lives is spent doing things that don’t allow us to always take proper time for ourselves. As college students, we worry so much about our futures— securing internships, studying for law school or medical school, lining up post-graduation jobs and so much more. Aside from thinking about the future, much of

Jack Griffiths | Friday, February 3, 2023

In 2009, I wrote a 10-step list on ways to calm down during times of stress. I wanted to revisit each of the steps, reflecting on each one’s value and relevance as a college student.  Take 3 deep breaths. Obviously, deep breathing has positive effects on the body, lowering one’s heart rate and thus alleviating

Do the next right thing

Erin Fennessy | Monday, September 21, 2020

While I was living at home this summer, my mom convinced me to watch “Frozen 2” with her — which, for the record, is much better than the first “Frozen” movie. I could write an analysis of every song in the second one for the scene department, but I’ll spare you (for now) and limit

Before you start burrowing away, stocking up on Grab

Manuel De Jesus | Monday, February 22, 2016

Life can get rough sometimes. It’s no one’s fault, but that’s the reality we live in especially as Notre Dame students. We’re constantly stressed over getting our assignments done, competing for summer internships and juggling extracurricular activities with having a healthy social life. I admire how much work some of the people I know put

We asked you to Ask The Observer Sports Department We asked you to Ask The Observer Sports Department and you responded with the request: “Northwestern @ Notre Dame 2014 Football Breakdown”. That game was a heartbreaking loss for a Notre Dame team that had started 6-0 before stumbling down the stretch to a 7-5 record. A bowl game win over LSU salvaged some optimism for the program’s future, but that loss to Northwestern was a shocking result that contributed to one of the more appalling stretches of Irish football in the Brian Kelly era.
