Daniel O'Boyle | Wednesday, December 6, 2017

After seven consecutive games on the road, No. 3 Notre Dame finally returns to Purcell Pavilion, hoping to bounce back from its first loss of the season. On Sunday, the Irish (7-1) led No. 1 Connecticut by as many as 12 points in the first half and by a score of 68-58 with less than

Benjamin Padanilam | Friday, May 13, 2016

Entering this year’s NCAA tournament, Notre Dame had been to the Final Four in five consecutive seasons. And after another sweep of ACC regular season and tournament titles, a sixth straight trip appeared inevitable for the Irish. But then, the unthinkable happened: the No. 1-seeded Irish fell to No. 4-seeded Stanford, 90-84, in the Sweet

Insider: Cable, freshmen provide unexpected boosts for Irish

Benjamin Padanilam | Friday, March 18, 2016

Coming into the season, Notre Dame knew it would be without Jewell Loyd, who skipped her senior season to declare for the WNBA draft. What it did not expect was to lose one of its top recruits, freshman guard Ali Patberg, to a torn ACL prior to the start of the season or to have junior

ND falls to top-ranked Huskies despite Mabrey’s 23 points

Daniel O'Boyle | Monday, December 7, 2015

Through just over two quarters, a depleted No. 3 Notre Dame looked to be matching No. 1 Connecticut blow for blow, behind a 21-point first half from freshman guard Marina Mabrey. But a 17-0 run for the Huskies (6-0) in the second half was too much for the Irish (7-1) to overcome, as UConn defeated Notre

Green: Injuries hold back Notre Dame against rival UConn

Mary Green | Monday, December 7, 2015

When Notre Dame faced UConn in the national championship game last April, the Irish were confident as ever. They had one of the best players in the country in their starting five — the best player, as several coaches argued during the course of the season — steady confidence and a healthy lineup, something they

Benjamin Padanilam | Friday, December 4, 2015

It’s not too often that a team’s biggest challenge comes in the eighth game of its season, but Saturday’s game on the road against No. 1 Connecticut in the Jimmy V Classic might just be No. 3 Notre Dame’s toughest test this season. Following tight wins over No. 24 UCLA and No. 10 Ohio State earlier
