Each character has a strong narrative — there’s Lindsey’s relationship with her parents, Sam’s journey to deciding what he wants and Danny’s desperation to belong. Even the guidance counselor serves as a central character, developing

Paul McCartney crashes into ‘Egypt Station’

Jake Winningham | Friday, September 14, 2018

When they introduced themselves to the world with the lyrics “Hope I die before I get old,” did Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend ever picture themselves limping across an arena stage in their 70s? Did Mick Jagger anticipate cooing lasciviously about “Satisfaction” (or the lack thereof) to a crowd young enough to be his grandchildren? Rock stars

We can’t forget the classics

Sara Schlecht | Wednesday, February 28, 2018

Sitting in class one day last week, I found myself focusing on just about everything but what my professor was saying — the dust in my keyboard, the squeaking of pencils moving hastily across notebooks, the late morning glare coming in from the window. Joseph R. Biden has become the second Catholic President in United States history, but his position on abortion is “one that cannot be condoned” according to Rev. Robert Dowd.

“Other bishops think that, because he’s a conscientious Catholic whose faith is obviously important to him, we should strike a more positive tone, particularly at the outset of his presidency. After all, in many ways Biden’s positions are more in line with Catholic teaching than Trump’s, particularly when it comes to migrants, refugees, climate issues, poverty and inequality,” Dowd continued.
