Irish finish perfect regular season behind McKinley’s three touchdowns

Nate Moller | Sunday, December 6, 2020

It definitely was not a perfect performance, but No. 2-ranked Notre Dame (10-0, 9-0 ACC) was able to beat Syracuse (1-10, 1-10 ACC) by a score of 45-21 on senior day to complete a perfect regular season, the third of head coach Brian Kelly’s tenure in South Bend. Kelly talked about what Saturday’s win means

‘100% until the whistle blows’: Tremble brings physicality to Irish offense

Hayden Adams | Friday, November 27, 2020

After tight Cole Kmet departed the Notre Dame football program to become a second-round NFL Draft pick of the Chicago Bears, many believed junior Tommy Tremble would carry on the tradition of Tight End U. It wasn’t too much of a stretch considering Tremble’s sophomore year numbers (16 receptions, 183 yards, four scores) were better

Irish continue to find impact talent in the Peach State

Charlotte Edmonds | Friday, October 30, 2020

With back-to-back seasons playing in the Peach State, Notre Dame is making themselves at home in Georgia. The Irish have long dominated the upper Midwest and they’re starting to carve their way into SEC territory. According to Bryan Driskell of Sports Illustrated, these gains in recruitment can be attributed to Georgia’s population growth and a

Adams: Questions and comments after ND’s dismantling of Pitt

Hayden Adams | Wednesday, October 28, 2020

Not a whole lot of questions this week after Notre Dame beat Pitt 45-3. But that’s OK. It just means we can go more in depth on what we got. Enjoy.   Does ND have the ability at receiver to compete with Clemson after 2 injuries? Love that you’re already looking past Georgia Tech. Let’s

Book beginning to click with receivers just in time

Aidan Thomas | Monday, October 26, 2020

The passing game has been a much maligned part of the Notre Dame football roster this season. Entering their clash with Pitt, the No. 3 Irish were averaging just 178 yards per game through the air, having leaned heavily on a dynamic running game to start their season with an unblemished 4-0 record. The frustrations

Adams: If ND football players were Marvel superheroes

Hayden Adams | Wednesday, October 7, 2020

When it comes to this, my word is gospel (or so I like to think anyway). Athletes are the closest thing in everyday life to superheroes. Their physical prowess awes the masses. With that in mind, leave it to a wannabe Scene Writer like me to write a column combining my two greatest passions: sports

Notre Dame home win streak reaches highest since 1990 with win over Duke

Hayden Adams | Monday, September 14, 2020

It was a historic day for Notre Dame football. They extended their home win streak to 19 games, the longest run since 1990, with a win over Duke, and in doing so locked up their first-ever conference win. Notre Dame (1-0, 1-0 ACC) is now the winningest team in ACC history percentage-wise after having joined

Adams: An internal dialogue over Notre Dame’s season opening win against Duke

Hayden Adams | Monday, September 14, 2020

Watching Notre Dame’s season opener against Duke, I could really feel myself channeling the spirit of my predecessor as sports editor, Connor Mulvena. Mr. Mulvena was relentless in his criticism of Ian Book, and while I am a persistent optimist when it comes to my teams, I have to say I was getting really frustrated.

Kelly addresses position groups, COVID-19 protocols

Hayden Adams | Wednesday, August 19, 2020

Notre Dame football head coach Brian Kelly held a press conference Tuesday afternoon following practice. He fielded questions from the media, most of which pertained to the various position groups and players who were standing out amidst their packs. He began talking about sophomore running back Kyren Williams. “Kyren is just maturing and physically getting

Joseph R. Biden has become the second Catholic President in United States history, but his position on abortion is “one that cannot be condoned” according to Rev. Robert Dowd.

“Other bishops think that, because he’s a conscientious Catholic whose faith is obviously important to him, we should strike a more positive tone, particularly at the outset of his presidency. After all, in many ways Biden’s positions are more in line with Catholic teaching than Trump’s, particularly when it comes to migrants, refugees, climate issues, poverty and inequality,” Dowd continued.
